This will give you all of the diapers you need until baby reaches 15 lbs. Kissaluvs size 0 diapers with newborn covers fit perfectly and hold in messes quite nicely. This system will give you a few Kissaluvs which are stretchy and luxurious and really fit a newborn beautifully. The infant prefolds will fit with some tucking into the newborn covers too. Bummis covers fit nicely over prefolds or fitted diapers. You want some of the fancy stuff
This setup allows for some of the inexpensive Chinese prefolds for around the house and the cadillac of diapers, the bumGenius, for nights, outings, babysitter, etc. The microfiber diaper doublers are recommended in the bumGenius diaper for newborns. Later they can be used along with the regular sized insert in the bumGenius for extra absorbency. At 15 lbs you will continue to use the bumGenius one-size diapers (8-35 lbs). If you decide to continue with prefolds, you can purchase the premium prefold diaper package (15-30 lbs) once baby outgrows the infant diapers and small covers. You want to buy everything now but you don't want to spend a fortune

bumGenius one-size diapers are easy to use. Simply stuff with the absorbent insert, place on baby, and you're ready to go. How many diapers you need depends on how often you want to wash. Keep in mind that the fewer diapers you have the more wear they will get, and the faster they will show wear. Also, expect newborns to go through about 12 diapers a day.
